As I frantically and excitedly prepare for my daughter’s graduation and all the festivities surrounding it, I can’t help but think back about our time at Commonwealth Academy.

Six years ago I couldn’t imagine, and didn’t dare to dream, that she would become the self-confident, strong, independent young woman she is today – an excellent student, accepted at the college of her choice and happily looking forward to her future.  This transformation from the shy, quiet, defeated child lacking in self esteem who entered 7th grade would not have been possible without the remarkable Commonwealth Academy Community.

From Dr. Susan Johnson with her strong, compassionate vision and leadership – to the wonderful faculty who give with their whole hearts to the demanding job of working with students who have a wide range of learning styles and personalities – to the office staff who keep us all organized and everything running smoothly – it is an incredible team effort to provide the very best education and learning environment to our children.  I have also met the most incredible parents at C/A, devoted to their children and making sure they reach their full potential.  Parents who already give so much, yet are willing to organize lunches for the teachers and hot dog lunches for the students, put together a student/family directory, organize and put on a Career Enrichment Day for the students, host parent socials in the Fall, help with school mailings, decorate for Prom, and the list goes on and on.  What an honor it has been to work with all of you.

Our family feels truly blessed to have been a part of this amazing Commonwealth Academy Community.  We will forever be appreciative of what it did for our daughter and our family, and we plan to continue being involved with the school and support its mission and goals.  We wish everyone, graduating seniors and returning students,  the very best of luck in the future!
