Leadership Alexandria candidates visited Commonwealth Academy on December 5, 2007. We were honored to host Mike Hart, Sheri Dougherty, Tony Davis, and Luke McFadden, who chose C/A from a list of Alexandria schools for their unit on “Education–The Key to the Future.”  Leadership Alexandria’s mission is to “bring together a network of diverse community leaders who are committed to improving the quality of life in Alexandria. Through experiential learning and in-depth discussions, participants explore issues such as education, city government, health care, public safety, and the economy.”

Their visit included an overview of the school, presented by Dr. Johnson, Head of School, classroom observations, and a presentation about technology at CA by Ms. Lusby, Director of Studies, and Mr. Roth, Director of Middle School. Candidates also met with Student Government Association representatives and attended a presentation by DeVry University and our college counselor, Ms. Alexander.
